Building Permit Applications

Debit/Credit Card Usage:
A portal administration fee for credit card payments will be charged and retained by the Portal, not the Town of Hotchkiss.
The convenience fee for credit cards are as follows: the amount of the (payment + $.75 x 2.25%) + $.75 (example for a payment of $10.00): ($10 + $.75) x 2.25% = $10.75 x 2.25% = $.24 + $.75=$.99. Your card would be charged $10.99 for the transaction.
Dog Licenses:
- $7.50 per dog that has been neutered or spayed
- $15.00 per unaltered dogs
- Licenses must be renewed annually. Due in April.
- Proof of vaccination is required
Please visit the Town Hall Clerk's Office to license or renew your dog tags.
Garbage Collection
- $15.75 for residential pickup
- $19.50 for 90 gallon toter (Residential/small commercial)
- Dumpsters are priced by size. Call 970-872-3663 for assistance.
License to Sell Alcohol
All Liquor License Applications must first be submitted to the Town of Hotchkiss. Please call 970-872-3663 or click here to email any questions regarding Liquor Licensing within the Town of Hotchkiss.

- $20 plus any additional bank charges.
- Checks will no longer be accepted after two (2) returned checks.

Town Fee Payment Options
- Direct withdrawal (ACH) for Utility Bills is available.
- Credit/Debit Cards are accepted in person, by phone or click here for Pay My Bill online option.
- Utility Drop Box located at the west entrance to Town Hall for cash or check payments.
- Mail payments to Town of Hotchkiss, PO Box 369, Hotchkiss, CO 81419
- If using a bank's bill pay option, please allow seven business days for mailing after the processing/pay on date.

Shut off of utilities for non-payment is the last Wednesday of the month.
Late Fees:
- $10.00 if utility bill not paid by the 15th of the month
- $20.00 service fee if utilities have been turned off and back on after paid in full
Town Utility Transfer Fees
No turn on/transfer fees are accessed by the Town unless service has been shut off for non-payment. Fee is then $20.00.
